About UKFarsi
UKFarsi is an independent Persian-language news organisation based in the United Kingdom. We serve Persian-speaking audiences with accurate, accessible and public-interest journalism about Britain, Iran and the wider world. Our aim is to help readers understand events, public services and civic life through reporting that is clear about its evidence and limitations.
Our mission
We publish news, explanation and analysis that enable informed decisions and meaningful participation in society. Speed matters in a modern newsroom, but it does not take priority over accuracy, fairness or the safety of the people affected by our work.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are based on public interest, news value and available evidence. Advertisers, donors, commercial partners and outside organisations may not determine the outcome of a story, suppress relevant facts or dictate our editorial position. Sponsored or commercial material must be clearly distinguished from independent editorial work.
What we cover
- UK news, public services, rights and policies relevant to Persian-speaking communities;
- developments in Iran, the Middle East and the wider world;
- society, culture, economics, technology and civic participation;
- explanatory, data-led and investigative projects within our editorial capacity.
How we work
We distinguish reporting from analysis and opinion. Wherever possible, we rely on primary documents, official data, direct interviews and independently verifiable sources. Significant claims are checked against more than one source when circumstances allow. When facts remain uncertain or disputed, we explain what is known, what is not known and why.
Editorial standards
Headlines, images, captions and social posts must accurately reflect the underlying reporting. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is in the public interest, the source faces a credible risk and the newsroom can assess the source’s identity and access. We take particular care when reporting on children, victims of violence, grief, health and other sensitive subjects.
Corrections and the right of reply
We correct material errors transparently and distinguish corrections from ordinary updates. People and organisations directly criticised in our reporting may submit a relevant, evidence-based reply. A reply may be published in full, summarised fairly or reflected in an update; publication does not imply endorsement.
To request a correction, include the exact article link, the passage you believe is wrong, a clear explanation and supporting evidence.
Projects and partnerships
UKFarsi develops public-interest projects that may include practical guides, data journalism, investigations, media-literacy work and community reporting. We may work with universities, civil-society organisations, specialists and other newsrooms where roles, funding and editorial boundaries are transparent. No partner may predetermine findings or remove substantiated reporting.
