Anan Khalaili Nears Record-Breaking Crystal Palace Move

Anan Khalaili, the Israeli forward currently playing for Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise, is reportedly on the verge of signing with Crystal Palace. The transfer would see the 21-year-old winger move from the Belgian Pro League to the English Premier League. Representatives for Khalaili told the news website Walla that the player is close to reaching an agreement with the London club. The deal is valued at €28 million, approximately $32.5 million. If finalised, it would make him the most expensive Israeli player in history. Born in Haifa, Khalaili has earned 16 caps for the Israeli national team. Should he join Crystal Palace, he would become the only Israeli player currently active in the Premier League. This development follows the collapse of a potential move to Inter Milan last month, which fell through after the player failed a medical examination. Khalaili played for Maccabi Haifa from 2014 to 2023, with a loan spell at Neve Yosef between 2019 and 2020. He also played for Hapoel Hadera before joining Union Saint-Gilloise. Meanwhile, The Athletic reports that another Israeli player, Manor Solomon, is set to move from Tottenham Hotspur to West Ham United. West Ham will compete in the Championship next season. The deal is reportedly valued at an initial £5 million, with £2 million in potential add-ons and a 10 per cent sell-on clause for Tottenham. Solomon, born in Kfar Saba, began his career at Maccabi Petah Tikva and has represented Israel since the age of 17. He joined Tottenham on a five-year deal in 2023. Solomon spent the 2024-2025 season on loan at Leeds, helping the club achieve promotion to the Premier League, and also spent time at Villarreal in Spain.
