What we know so far about Marvel’s new X-Men film
Since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019, anticipation for a new X-Men film has grown, and Marvel Studios is gradually moving closer to production. According to Deadline, no official details regarding the plot, cast, or the direct connection between the upcoming film and characters from previous X-Men iterations have been announced. Several actors are set to reprise their roles from the X-Men franchise in Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for release in December. However, it remains unclear how these appearances will relate to the new standalone film. Avengers: Doomsday will also introduce Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom, one of the most powerful villains in the comic book universe. Deadline reports that more information regarding the future direction of the X-Men and its integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to follow the film's release. In recent casting reports, Kit Connor has been linked to the role of Cyclops for the upcoming Marvel project, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.
