Protests expected in Israel following arrest of yeshiva student

According to Arutz Sheva, protests are expected in central Israel following the arrest of a yeshiva student in Haifa and his subsequent transfer to the Military Police on charges of draft evasion. The student, who attends the Kfar Hasidim Yeshiva, was detained by police following a dispute over a 'Rav Kav' card payment and was handed over to military authorities due to his status as a draft evader. Prior to this, the 'Color Black' alert system, used to notify the community of attempts to arrest yeshiva students, was activated following an incident in Holon, though that student was released after half an hour. In response to the recent arrests, the hardline Peleg faction is expected to hold protests in central Israel on Monday. The demonstrations are anticipated to take place near Highway 4 at the entrance to Bnei Brak at approximately 5:00 p.m. Israeli police have warned of potential traffic disruptions on Highway 4 between the Aluf Sadeh and Em HaMoshavot interchanges, as well as along the main Jabotinsky route, and are preparing for possible road closures.
