IDF: Tank in Gaza hit by explosive device in ‘grave’ truce breach; no soldiers hurt

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that an Israeli tank in the southern Gaza Strip was struck by a Hamas explosive device. According to the military, the incident occurred during Givati Brigade operations near the “Yellow Line,” and no soldiers were injured. In a separate incident, Paratrooper Brigade soldiers spotted two operatives who had crossed the Yellow Line in an attempt to sabotage IDF weapons. The military stated that the pair approached troops in a threatening manner and were killed by return fire. The IDF characterized both incidents as a “grave” violation of the ceasefire and indicated an intention to respond. These developments occur amid ongoing US-backed diplomatic efforts to advance a disarmament plan for Gaza, with Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya scheduled to travel to Cairo for talks with Egyptian intelligence officials.
