UAE warns of potential response after intercepting Iranian drone

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday strongly condemning an Iranian drone attack on its territory. According to reports, UAE air defense systems intercepted and destroyed the drone as it approached the country's territorial waters from the direction of Iran. Emirati officials described the move as a flagrant violation of sovereignty and a direct threat to the nation's security and stability. The statement emphasized that the UAE reserves its legitimate right to respond to these attacks to ensure the protection of its territorial integrity and national security, holding Tehran fully responsible for the aggression and its consequences. This incident occurs amid heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf following recent clashes between U.S. forces and the IRGC near the Strait of Hormuz, as well as Iranian ballistic missile strikes on U.S. bases in Jordan. Previously, the U.S. military stated it had targeted Iranian missile launchers near Larak Island. In response, an IRGC spokesperson characterized the U.S. action as a fatal mistake and warned that the enemy would face military and economic consequences.
