Joint List refuses to commit to backing government during war with Iran

According to Arutz Sheva, Israeli President Isaac Herzog asked representatives of the Arab Joint List on Thursday during government formation consultations whether they would stop supporting the government in the case of a significant war against Iran or Hamas. Joint List chairman Prof. Yousef Jabareen refrained from committing and clarified that the party would make a strategic decision. During the consultation, the Joint List recommended Yashar Party Chairman Gadi Eisenkot for the task. The delegation included MK Ahmad Tibi, Bakr Awawdeh, MK Ofer Cassif, and Maha Sabbah Karkabi. MK Ahmad Tibi addressed the election results and voter turnout among Arab citizens. Jabareen sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Yair Netanyahu over alleged incitement against the Arab population. The consultations at the President's Residence follow the publication of election results for the 26th Knesset.
