Anan Khalaili joins Crystal Palace in record-breaking transfer

Anan Khalaili, 21, has signed a five-year contract with English Premier League club Crystal Palace in a deal worth approximately 25 million euros ($29 million). The transfer makes him the most expensive Israeli footballer in history. Khalaili, who previously played for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, will wear the number 25 shirt for the London-based club.

The move follows the collapse of a proposed transfer to Inter Milan last month, after the player failed to receive medical clearance under Italian regulations. Crystal Palace proceeded with the signing after conducting their own medical assessment. Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed the arrival of the player, stating the club is excited to have him join their journey at Selhurst Park.

Khalaili, who can operate as a winger or wing-back on the right flank, expressed his excitement about the new challenge in the Premier League. In an interview with the club's official website, he described his playing style as strong and fast, noting his preference for dribbling while also emphasizing his commitment to defensive duties and helping the team.

With reports suggesting that current Palace right-sided defender Daniel Muñoz may leave the club, Khalaili is considered a leading candidate for a starting role. His initial salary is reported to be around 1.5 million pounds per season, excluding bonuses. Khalaili is currently the only Israeli player competing in the Premier League.
