Iran rejects US response to peace proposal, insists on its seven conditions

According to Arutz Sheva, Iran rejected the United States' response to its latest proposal for ending the conflict on Tuesday, insisting that Washington meet all seven of Tehran's demands before the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened. Iranian Security Chief Mohsen Rezaei wrote on X: "America’s response to Iran’s rights and demands was not convincing, and they must fully and explicitly address Iran’s seven conditions and act upon them." He added that only in this case will the Strait of Hormuz be reopened. Iran's demands include American compensation for war damage, an end to US economic pressure, lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports, an end to regional hostilities, the release of frozen assets, a reduction in the American military presence in the Middle East, and a permanent end to the war. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump expressed optimism about reaching a deal, while reiterating that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains a central American objective, noting that the US retains the capability to strike Iranian nuclear facilities at short notice.
