Trump’s ‘peacemaker’ agenda stalls in Iran, Gaza and Ukraine as midterms loom

President Donald Trump’s ambitious foreign policy agenda appears increasingly stalled as he approaches November’s midterm elections. Trump recently announced a new campaign of “economic warfare” against Tehran after diplomatic efforts stalled. Simultaneously, peace efforts in Gaza led by Jared Kushner have failed to produce a breakthrough, and a planned visit to Kyiv by U.S. envoys to address the war in Ukraine has yet to materialize. Analysts suggest that while Trump’s reliance on coercive pressure can bring adversaries to the table, it has struggled to produce durable settlements, potentially encouraging rivals to simply wait out his administration.
