Coalition Chairman Vows Return to Judicial Reform if Likud Wins Next Election

Coalition Chairman MK Ofir Katz has declared that if Likud forms the next government, one of its central tasks will be to complete the judicial reform that was halted during the current Knesset term. In an interview with Ynet’s “120 and One" podcast, Katz stated that the government had been overly cautious in its previous attempts. “We were too gentle and too soft by not going all the way," he said, adding that Likud intends to bring the stalled legislation back to the Knesset. “This time we won’t stop," he asserted. Katz rejected the claim that widespread public protests were the primary reason for the halt, arguing that the scale of the opposition was exaggerated by the media and that some coalition members were deterred by public pressure. He further clarified that if Likud wins the next election, it will work to implement its policies by completing the judicial reform as part of carrying out the will of the voters.
