US sanctions eight Canadian companies accused of helping Iran evade sanctions

According to Arutz Sheva, the US Treasury Department announced on Friday that it has sanctioned eight Canadian businesses accused of facilitating financial transactions designed to circumvent American sanctions against the Iranian regime. The measures, coordinated with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (Fintrac), target money services businesses in Ontario and British Columbia, including Million Exchange, NIA Nations Currency, Farah Exchange, and Darvish Exchange. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that Washington would continue to disrupt financial networks assisting Tehran globally, stating that Canada cannot be a safe haven for illicit financial facilitators. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) welcomed the sanctions and renewed its call for the Canadian government to take stronger measures against regime-linked activities within the country, urging Ottawa to address these networks as part of its new National Security Strategy.
