Envoys seek to rescue Gaza plan after Netanyahu rejects 15-point proposal

Officials from the Board of Peace for Gaza stated that the visit aims to address concerns and advance a roadmap toward peace and the disarmament of Hamas. According to these officials, the United States and Israel agree on the end goal: a disarmed Hamas and the transfer of authority to a Palestinian technocratic government. Kushner is scheduled to meet with mediators in Egypt in addition to his visit to Israel. Meanwhile, the IDF announced the killing of two Hamas company commanders, Hudhaifa Khaled Suleiman Qawari and Muhammad Bassam Muhammad Mushtaha, in recent strikes. Reports suggest that Netanyahu's rejection of the 15-point plan is viewed as an appeal to his right-wing political base ahead of the October election.
