Jo Koy on Honoring His Late Stepfather With Hilarious Dodger Game Bit in ‘Blue in the Face’
According to Variety, Jo Koy explained on 'Anatomy of a Joke: Spotlight' how his bit about taking his stepfather, Sgt. Fred Harrison, to a Los Angeles Dodgers game came to life. Harrison, a decorated Army veteran and devoted Dodgers fan, was battling cancer at the time. In his Netflix stand-up special, 'Jo Koy: Blue in the Face,' he recounts that when the game went into extra innings, he joked about his stepfather's exhaustion, saying: 'He served two tours of Vietnam, and he’s going to die in a fucking Dodgers game!'
