Attack on Iran and Progress in Negotiations: What Does the Emerging Agreement Include?

According to Channel 14 Israel, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US military struck an air defense system on Qeshm Island. Trump described the action as limited, claiming the new system was destroyed by US forces within minutes. Meanwhile, Iranian media reported two explosions in the Suza area of Qeshm, and the Iranian military claimed to have intercepted a US drone, a claim not confirmed by the US. Despite these tensions, Trump expressed optimism regarding negotiations. According to a report by The Guardian, the Qatari mediation plan includes lifting the naval blockade and releasing $8 billion in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for allowing IAEA inspectors access to nuclear facilities and enriched uranium stockpiles. A proposal for a $300 billion reconstruction fund for the Iranian economy has also been discussed. However, Iran is demanding an end to the war in Lebanon, the withdrawal of US forces from the Iranian coastline, and the lifting of economic sanctions, with significant gaps remaining before a final agreement.
