Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef launches scathing attack on Attorney General Baharav-Miara

The Attorney General argued that holding the event during the election period could be interpreted as election propaganda. Rabbi Yosef criticized the legal opinion, stating that the memorial is a tribute to a Torah scholar rather than a political event. He noted that nearly one million people from various backgrounds attended the seven-day mourning period for his father, emphasizing the event's national significance. Comparing the situation to memorial events for other figures like Yitzhak Rabin, which are not banned before elections, he questioned the legal reasoning behind the decision. Rabbi Yosef concluded his remarks with a sharp personal attack against the Attorney General, stating that her actions against his father would not go unanswered.
