Limited US strike on Qeshm Island amid ongoing mediation
According to Alhurra, the United States conducted a limited attack on Qeshm Island on Monday. US President Donald Trump confirmed to Fox News that Washington targeted air defense equipment on the island. A US official told The Wall Street Journal that the strikes do not signify a resumption of major combat operations. The Iranian news agency IRNA reported five consecutive explosions in Qeshm. Simultaneously, Qatar stated that Washington and Tehran are reviewing draft proposals to narrow their differences, although an Iranian official told Reuters that the two sides remain far from a deal. In another development, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on X that Iran is continuing dialogue with Saudi Arabia to reach new regional security arrangements.
