Trump asks UFC boss Dana White to be White House press secretary

According to BBC Sport, US President Donald Trump asked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boss Dana White to be the White House press secretary in a post on Truth Social, writing, "Dana, please take the job!" The public job offer came after Republicans were routed in the US midterm elections. Speaking after attending a fight in London, White told reporters he was flying to Washington for a meeting with Trump on Monday, though he did not state whether he was interested in the role. CNN cited a source familiar as saying that White had declined the idea, noting his numerous existing commitments including leading UFC, Power Slap, Zuffa Boxing, and serving on the board of Meta. White is a longtime friend and political ally of Trump.
