Rom Braslavski to Ben Gvir: ‘Let me execute the terrorists myself’

Rom Braslavski, a survivor of Hamas captivity, made an extraordinary request during an interview on National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's personal podcast. Braslavski asked the minister to allow him to personally carry out the execution of terrorists. Addressing Ben Gvir, Braslavski stated, "I have a personal request; let me be the one who hangs them. I don't want a rope; I want a button. With my own hands, I will execute every terrorist in the State of Israel." Ben Gvir responded by promising to "move heaven and earth" to facilitate the request, adding, "If God wills, it is one of my greatest dreams to see you there." Ben Gvir further noted that the legislation proposed by his Otzma Yehudit party specifies execution by hanging. During the discussion, the minister also addressed changes to conditions for security prisoners since he took office, contrasting current policies with previous standards that included access to television, sports, and other amenities. Ben Gvir stated that the current reality for these prisoners is one of suffering, which he described as a necessary measure of correction.
