The Daily Show releases audition tapes of John Oliver, Michael Che and current hosts
The Daily Show has released a 10-minute video on YouTube featuring previously unseen audition tapes from past and present correspondents and personalities. The footage was published to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the satirical news programme. The compilation includes the auditions of John Oliver, Michael Che and other notable figures who have passed through the show. The video also features the auditions of all five current rotating hosts. In the archival footage, several of the hosts are seen interacting and joking with former presenters Jon Stewart or Trevor Noah, depending on when they originally joined the programme. The Daily Show remains one of the longest-running political satire programmes on American television, having launched the careers of numerous comedians and journalists over the past three decades. The release of the tapes is part of a wider series of events marking the show's 30th anniversary.
