UAE President Pardons Son of Late Muslim Brotherhood Spiritual Leader

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has pardoned Abdul Rahman al-Qaradawi, who was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison for activities deemed to undermine public security. Abdul Rahman is the son of the late Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a prominent cleric and former spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. He had been extradited from Lebanon to the UAE prior to his conviction. According to the Times of Israel, the pardon was granted as part of a presidential decree.
