Indonesian Horror Hit ‘Pabrik Gula’ Gets 2028 Sequel

According to Variety, Astrid Wienardi, head of content licensing and global business at MD Entertainment, announced at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) in Taipei that the Indonesian studio will release a sequel to its 2025 horror hit 'Pabrik Gula' in early 2028. Additionally, the company has three Imax films planned for 2027. Wienardi presented on how MD integrates its film and series library with broadcast and streaming platforms. The company recently acquired control of the free-to-air channel NET TV in a deal worth up to $105 million and has secured investment from Korea’s SBS.
