Syria reports serious efforts for diplomatic solution with Israel

Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam al-Shaibani stated that his government is seriously pursuing a diplomatic solution with Israel. According to al-Shaibani, the talks, mediated by the United States, are focused on a full withdrawal of Israeli forces to the lines held prior to December 2024. Al-Shaibani also strongly criticized recent remarks by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who suggested that Israeli forces would remain in Syrian territory. These developments come amid ongoing military strikes in the region, with Damascus maintaining that these tensions have not halted diplomatic efforts to restore the pre-December status quo.
