IRGC vows response after US strikes Iranian missile launchers near Strait of Hormuz

A spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told Iranian state broadcaster IRIB on Sunday evening that the organization will retaliate following a US strike on two missile launchers located on Larak Island. The spokesperson stated that Iran intends to punish those responsible for the operation. According to the Jerusalem Post, the launchers were targeted by US forces while allegedly preparing to fire toward the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) has released imagery showing night flight operations conducted aboard the USS George Washington (CVN 73) on August 30, 2026.
