Palestinian-American raises US flag upon return to Qusra home besieged by settlers

Louai Abu Ridi, a Palestinian-American whose home in the West Bank village of Qusra near Nablus has been besieged by extremist settlers for over a week, returned to his property on Monday under military escort. Upon entering the house, he raised an American flag on the roof. Abu Ridi, whose brother remains trapped inside, called on the US embassy to provide protection for him and his family. He expressed frustration with the Israeli military's inability to resolve the standoff and demanded concrete action. While the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) previously dismantled an illegal outpost constructed by settlers near the home, reports indicate that settlers continue to roam the area, and the Palestinian residents remain prohibited from leaving their homes. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee recently condemned the incident, describing the actions as 'horrific' and 'disgusting.'
