Films Boutique acquires global rights to Mani Haghighi’s new documentary

International sales agency Films Boutique has acquired global distribution rights for the latest documentary by Iranian filmmaker Mani Haghighi. The film is scheduled to screen at the New York Film Festival. Titled 'I Deserve a Lover Who Makes the Sky Burn with Every Sunrise', the documentary is set between the 12-day war and subsequent US and Israeli strikes on Iran, connecting the cities of Tabriz and Tehran. The film follows the lives of two artists whose personal histories have become intertwined over the years through an extensive private archive. This collection includes photographs, documents, discarded objects, and traces of the lives of anonymous individuals. According to Variety, which first reported the news, the documentary features Naser Bakhshi and Roghayeh Najdi. Berlin-based Films Boutique will manage the international distribution of the film following its acquisition.
