Film ‘Primo Viaggio’ heads to Venice Production Bridge after three-country shoot

The film 'Primo Viaggio', which was introduced last year at the Locarno Film Festival’s Alliance 4 Development co-production platform, has completed filming and is preparing for the Venice Gap-Financing Market. According to Variety, the film is produced by Nanni Moretti’s Rome-based Sacher Film and Andrea Marcelli’s French company, Holly Productions. Principal photography took place between June and July in Naples, Italy; Malaga, Spain; and Marseille, France. 'Primo Viaggio' is written and directed by Alessandro Cassigoli and Casey Kauffman, who previously collaborated on the acclaimed films 'Californie' and 'Vittoria'. The producers are now looking to engage with potential sales agents, festival programmers and investors at the Venice market. Variety has highlighted the project as a success story for the Locarno development pipeline, noting that it has entered post-production less than a year after the producers first met at the platform. The report also notes updates on other projects from the Locarno market, including Florian Hoffmann’s 'Yaz', which won top prizes at the Alliance 4 Development awards, and the project 'Behemoth Unholds a Sense', which was presented by US and French production companies.
