Dakota Johnson to star in Verity film adaptation for summer 2026

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s thriller novel Verity is set for a theatrical release in early summer 2026. Dakota Johnson has been cast in the lead role of Lowen Ashleigh. The film will follow the release of Regretting You, another adaptation based on a Hoover novel. While Verity is noted for its thriller elements, distinguishing it from some of the author’s more traditional romance works, full details regarding the supporting cast and production team have yet to be confirmed. These upcoming projects follow the commercial success of It Ends With Us, which starred Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, with the latter also serving as director. That film's performance has set high expectations for future adaptations of Hoover’s bibliography. Amazon MGM Studios is overseeing the production of Verity.
