The Office star Lucy Davis announces terminal cancer diagnosis

Lucy Davis, known for her role as Dawn Tinsley in the original British version of The Office, has announced that she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The 53-year-old actress shared the news with her 590,000 Instagram followers on Tuesday, explaining that she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer after discovering a lump. She confirmed that the cancer has since spread to her bones. Davis wrote that she is currently focused on living as much of her life as possible with joy and fun. She added that she has always sought to find lessons in negative events, and that her diagnosis has been no exception. The actress emphasised the importance of humour, stating: 'I have asked my friends and family to joke with me as much as they can—which they are very good at—and most importantly, not to treat me like a sick person.' Davis rose to fame playing Dawn Tinsley in the hit comedy series The Office.
