Meet the people set for key role in deciding Man City fate

According to BBC Sport, the five members of the Premier League board are responsible for recommending sanctions for Manchester City, following the club's conviction by an independent commission in September for breaching financial rules. While the final decision on the sanction—which could include fines, points deductions, or expulsion—rests with the independent commission, the Premier League board plays a crucial role in presenting the case. The board consists of chair Alison Brittain, CEO Richard Masters, and three independent non-executive directors: Mai Fyfield, Dharmash Mistry, and Matthew Ryder. The board operates without club representatives to ensure neutrality. In previous disciplinary cases involving clubs like Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Leicester City, independent commissions have often disagreed with the Premier League's proposed sanctions, opting for lighter penalties.
