Israel Displays Vast Arsenal of Seized Hamas and Hezbollah Weapons at IDF Base

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) granted rare access to the Tzrifin base in central Israel, showcasing a vast arsenal of weapons confiscated from Hamas and Hezbollah. The collection includes rockets, drones, grenades, sniper rifles, and anti-tank launchers. According to Lt. Col. (res.) Idan Sharon-Kettler, commander of the Captured Equipment Evacuation Unit, the weapons originate from various countries, including Iran, Russia, and China, alongside locally produced items from Lebanon and Gaza. Among the seized items are Nazi-era weapons, such as an MG-34 machine gun and an MP 44 assault rifle, which military officials suggest were likely used for propaganda or morale. The IDF also displayed Egyptian-made motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) modified to carry rocket launchers, and Iranian-produced mortars recovered in southern Lebanon. The report notes that both Hamas and Hezbollah frequently embed military assets within residential areas, including hospitals and schools. As diplomatic efforts continue regarding the disarmament of Hezbollah and the implementation of ceasefire agreements, IDF officials maintain that operations to clear southern Lebanon of military entities targeting Israeli civilians remain a priority.
