Israel warns of rising terror threats against citizens and Jews abroad

Israel's National Security Council has issued a new assessment warning that the threat environment for Israelis and Jews abroad has become broader and more persistent than in previous years. Officials cited the roles of the Islamic Republic, Hezbollah, Hamas, and global jihadist groups, warning of potential attacks ahead of the Jewish High Holidays and the third anniversary of the October 7 attack. According to the council, 25 Israelis and Jews have been killed in terrorist attacks abroad since the start of the war. Security officials emphasized that beyond organized networks, there is a rising risk from 'lone-actor' attackers influenced by online radicalization. The report specifically identified countries such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates as vulnerable to Iranian activity, while travel to Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland, and the Sinai Peninsula remains under the highest security warning level. Citizens are advised to avoid displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols in public and to refrain from sharing real-time locations on social media.
