Crocker warns Democrats against cutting funding for war with Iran

Former US ambassador Ryan Crocker told Alhurra in an interview that Democrats who won control in the midterm elections must exercise extreme caution regarding using the budget to cut funding for the war with Iran. He warned that a US retreat would grant Tehran control over the Strait of Hormuz and encourage further adventures. Crocker stated that military strikes will not deter battle-hardened Iranian leaders, but limited agreements such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz, containing the war in Yemen, and disarming Hezbollah are achievable through skilled diplomacy and political will from regional powers.
