US embassies in Middle East warn of ‘unforeseen escalation’ as strikes hit Iran

According to CENTCOM, the military action follows recent attempts by the IRGC to deploy sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz and the firing of eight ballistic missiles at U.S. military bases in Jordan. Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that the strikes were a justified retaliation and warned that any further Iranian escalation would be met with a significantly harder response. Previous U.S. strikes had targeted two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island.
