Bukele’s warning to Haitian gang leaders that his forces will ‘finish’ them as he did in El Salvador

According to Fox News, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has deployed 2,000 troops to Haiti following the disappearance of four military aviation technicians in a gang ambush near Port-au-Prince on October 18. In a message on X directed at Haiti's criminal groups, Bukele stated, "We have already finished with the gangs in El Salvador, and we can finish with you too." The primary objective of the operation is to recover the four missing personnel. While Haitian National Police discovered the charred remains of the technicians' vehicle in the Santo neighborhood, no trace of the men was found. The Haitian transitional government has expressed support for the deployment, though human rights advocates and gang leaders have warned of potential escalation. Bukele maintains that negotiations have only prolonged the crisis and that El Salvador is prepared to use overwhelming force to secure the return of its personnel.
