Iranian officials mock US midterm election results: ‘Trump lost the war and politics’

According to Ynet, following the US midterm election results, Iranian officials reacted with sharp rhetoric. Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei declared that Trump had lost in war and politics, adding that Iran would inflict further defeats upon him. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote on X that Americans said 'NO' to war, a message Iran endorses. Hassan Ghashghavi, spokesperson for the Parliament's National Security Committee, mocked Trump's political influence, describing his support as a 'leaky umbrella.' Concurrently, Iran marked the 13th of Aban with anti-American demonstrations and the burning of US and Israeli flags. Despite these reactions, other officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, maintained that Iran's foreign policy is not tied to US elections, asserting that there is no fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans regarding hostile policies toward Tehran.
