‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Author Responds To Texas Going Blue In Midterms: “It Was All In The Binder”

According to Deadline, with the victory of James Talarico in the Texas Senate race and the defeat of Republican Ken Paxton, the state has elected a Democratic Senator for the first time since 1988. While the flip came as a shock to many, fans of Casey McQuiston’s novel 'Red, White & Royal Blue' viewed it as a prophecy coming to life. In the novel and its film adaptation, the character Alex Claremont-Diaz outlines an ambitious political strategy in a 14-page memo known as the 'Texas Binder' to turn his home state blue, ultimately securing a second term for his mother, President Ellen Claremont.
