Bolivian defender arrives in Israel to sign with Hapoel Petah Tikva

Three days before the start of the Israeli Premier League, Hapoel Petah Tikva appears to have secured the foreign defender they were seeking. Diego Arroyo, a 21-year-old Bolivian defender standing 1.91 meters tall, arrived in Israel on Wednesday evening. He is scheduled to undergo medical examinations on Thursday ahead of signing with the club. If the deal is finalized, Arroyo will become the seventh foreign player in the squad managed by Omer Peretz, completing the team's current quota for international players. Arroyo arrives from the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, which had refused to release him for several weeks while searching for a replacement. According to Sport 1, the Ukrainian side recently signed a new defender and subsequently agreed to release Arroyo to Hapoel Petah Tikva.
