Anti-Israel candidates surge in US midterms

According to a report by Ynet, the U.S. midterm elections, which saw Republican losses in both the House and Senate, highlighted a shift in political dynamics with a surge of anti-Israel candidates. In Michigan, Abdul El-Sayed became the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate. A Siena College poll showed that Jewish voter support in New York for Democratic control of Congress dropped from 76% in 2018 to 61%. At least 36 newly elected progressive candidates won seats, including five members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The report outlines election results across various states, detailing the wins and challenges of both pro-Israel and anti-Israel candidates in key races.
