US offers $20m reward for information about Iran’s nuclear programme

According to BBC, the United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for information about Iran's nuclear programme, including facilities, equipment, and associated personnel. The State Department's Rewards for Justice programme is also offering to potentially relocate the individual providing such details. This comes as the US military's Central Command (Centcom) announced the creation of Task Force Iron Gate, operating from Tampa, Florida, to enhance efforts to restrict Iran's movement of weapons and sanctioned material. Centcom estimates its naval blockade has prevented the export of over $25bn in crude oil. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has made previous claims regarding the destruction of Iranian nuclear facilities while mentioning potential needs to target underground sites. Qatar's foreign ministry has noted that both sides are reviewing proposals to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Iran insists its nuclear programme is peaceful and that it has no intention of developing a nuclear weapon.
