New Dh6 billion residential community The Wadi announced on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

A new Dh6 billion mixed-use residential development named The Wadi has been announced along the Yas Canal area in Abu Dhabi, bringing thousands of homes, a hotel, waterfront spaces, and recreational facilities. The development comes as Yas Island prepares for a major expansion over the coming years, including the arrival of the Middle East's first Disney theme park resort and Sphere Abu Dhabi. According to The National, the project will feature 3,950 homes across a 140,700-square-metre site, ranging from studios to one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Its design takes inspiration from the UAE's natural wadis, emphasizing landscaping, water, and outdoor spaces. The project is being developed by Cosmo Developments, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi-based Flag Holding Group and Reportage Group, with Reportage overseeing development, delivery, and long-term management. The first phase features two residential buildings, E1 and E2, containing a combined 530 apartments, scheduled for handover in the fourth quarter of 2030. The location places residents within easy reach of Zayed International Airport and Yas Island's growing collection of attractions.
