Peacock has announced that the comedy series 'The Dig', starring Amy Poehler and Hugh Laurie, will premiere on 23 November. The ten-episode series is scheduled for release this autumn. The project reunites Amy Poehler with Michael Schur, the executive producer of 'Parks and Recreation'. The plot centres on a group of dedicated archaeologists and a less committed group of university students spending their summer at an archaeological dig site in Greece. During their excavation, the group unearths a rare object, triggering a significant adventure. The secret buried with the artefact offers the characters an opportunity to rewrite history. As the story unfolds, the group finds themselves at the heart of a high-stakes international conspiracy. According to a report by Deadline, specific details regarding the roles played by Hugh Laurie and the rest of the cast have not yet been disclosed.
