Caroline Dubois: I want to face Baumgardner, it will be boxing’s next great rivalry

Caroline Dubois, the WBC and WBO lightweight world champion, writing in her BBC Sport column, has stated her ambition to face Alycia Baumgardner. Dubois believes this potential bout could fill the void left by previous great rivalries in women's boxing and become one of the sport's biggest events. While expressing respect for Baumgardner's achievements, Dubois emphasized that to be the best, one must fight the best. Her roadmap includes a unification fight against WBA champion Stephanie Han, followed by a target of facing the winner of the Baumgardner-Turhan bout in 2027 to become the undisputed champion. Regarding the upcoming Baumgardner-Turhan fight, Dubois noted that while Baumgardner is technically superior, Turhan's heavy-handed, aggressive style could cause an upset if she lands early shots.
