Woman killed, 6 injured in northern Israel four-car pileup

A woman was killed and six others were injured on Sunday morning in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Highway 2 near Atlit, south of Haifa. Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Six other individuals were transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera, including a man in his 60s who remains in serious condition. The five other casualties sustained mild injuries. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision, with traffic accident investigators currently examining the site. Responders noted that one vehicle was completely crushed while another had overturned. This fatality marks the fifth road death in Israel within a 24-hour period. According to the National Road Safety Authority, nearly 300 people have died on Israeli roads since the start of 2026.
