NIS 1.4 million in suspected terror money found hidden in vehicle entering Jerusalem

Israeli Border Police officers discovered approximately NIS 1.4 million (roughly $400,000) in cash concealed within a double-walled compartment of a vehicle attempting to enter Jerusalem via the Tunnels Checkpoint. Authorities suspect the funds were intended to finance terrorism. The 29-year-old driver, a resident of Jerusalem, was arrested at the scene. The case has been transferred to the Jerusalem District Police Central Unit and the Shin Bet for a joint investigation. A local Magistrate's Court has extended the suspect's detention. Footage of the incident shows officers searching the vehicle before discovering the hidden bags of cash, at which point the driver was ordered to exit the vehicle.
