Indictment filed against two Israeli minors for working with Iranian agent

The Israeli State Attorney's Office filed an indictment on Sunday at the Haifa District Juvenile Court against two minors, aged 14 and 16, from Kiryat Motzkin. According to the indictment, the two performed tasks in exchange for payment for an individual who identified himself as "Daniel" and claimed to be connected to Iran. The contact began in June 2026 after one of the minors sought work via a Telegram group. Police stated that while initial tasks appeared innocent, such as distributing flyers, they later escalated to photographing shopping malls in Tel Aviv and Herzliya and providing details on security measures. One minor admitted to deleting footage due to fears it would be used for terrorist attacks, yet continued the contact. The pair is also accused of graffiti vandalism and attempting to recruit others for "high-risk" assignments. One minor allegedly posed as an IDF Unit 8200 soldier to solicit further tasks. The minors received payments totaling hundreds of shekels, including via cryptocurrency. The investigation was conducted by the Asher District Central Unit in cooperation with the Lahav 433 "Barak" unit.
