Reports of settler attacks on Palestinian fields and civilians in the West Bank

According to the Palestinian Authority’s official Wafa news agency, settlers set fire to fields on the outskirts of the village of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, on Monday night. Reports indicate that Israeli troops delayed an ambulance attempting to reach the area. In a separate incident in Beita, south of Nablus, settlers reportedly threw stones at residents, injuring at least two Palestinians. Additionally, on a road south of Bethlehem, armed settlers stopped a vehicle and pepper-sprayed the passengers, including a young child. The IDF did not immediately comment on these reports. According to figures from Kan, serious incidents of settler violence in the West Bank rose by 63% in the first half of 2026, totaling 660 cases. Meanwhile, footage from the village of Qabatiya showing a Palestinian man with the number 44 written on his forehead by IDF soldiers drew scrutiny. A military source acknowledged to The Times of Israel that the soldiers' actions were inappropriate and stated that steps would be taken to address the incident.
