Reports of IRGC ballistic missile attack on US bases in Jordan

Iranian media reported on Friday evening that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a surprise ballistic missile attack against US military bases in Jordan. Meanwhile, Al-Arabiya reported air defense activity in Jordan and explosions heard in the area. However, a US official told Channel 12 News reporter Barak Ravid that at this stage, there is no knowledge of any attack on US bases in Jordan. These developments follow US strikes earlier this week against IRGC targets in Qeshm Island, Chabahar, and Bandar Abbas. CENTCOM stated that US forces targeted Iranian air defense sites, radar systems, and maritime facilities. The Jordanian military claimed that 13 ballistic missiles were fired toward the kingdom, 10 of which were intercepted, while three landed in areas far from population centers. Two US officials told Reuters that no American personnel in Jordan were injured. There were also unconfirmed reports of a drone attack on a US base in Bahrain and Kuwaiti air defenses engaging Iranian missiles and drones.
