UN probe finds Iran committed crimes against humanity in crackdown

A United Nations fact-finding mission has released a new report concluding that the actions of the regime ruling Iran in suppressing protesters went beyond familiar patterns, representing a marked escalation in the use of lethal force and mass arrests. The mission stated that these actions constitute crimes against humanity. The report also makes references to strikes involving the United States and Israel. Volker Turk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, addressed these findings during the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
