NY Jews train for mass casualty events amid heightened threats

According to a report by The Times of Israel, concerns regarding the security of New York's Jewish community have intensified following an attack on a guard and a congregant at the Central Synagogue in Manhattan on Friday night. NYPD data indicates that Jews were targeted in 70 percent of all hate crimes in the city during July. In response, members of the volunteer Community Security Service (CSS) participated in a training course led by Israeli first responders from Magen David Adom to prepare for potential mass casualty events.
